Quote from: Blueberry on May 25, 2026, 09:25:26 PMToday I managed to activate myself in the early evening by listening to specific music and singing along with it while washing those dishes that aren't dishwasher-safe and tend to form huge stacks

Nice work, Blueberry.  :cheer:

Thank you san, you're right since even when I have several days or even a week of mostly curled up, outwith that time I do manage quite a lot, and varied things too.

Thank you, Hannah, it's not the first time but I often have phases where every single little thing is basically too much so I don't do things that otherwise would be helpful. And that's OK, but then when I have the wherewithal again, it does me good.

Quote from: zen_racer on May 27, 2026, 11:35:14 PMI just found an hour long music compilation on youtube yesterday that has really spoken to me.  I have it playing in another tab right now.  I hope you're doing well today!

Thank you, yes, I am doing well today. I was up at 5am to thoroughly air my apartment while it was still cool. It makes sense to do it at 5am, but this is the first time in the heat wave that I've managed to get up so early. Then I went into the garden (or 'yard' for N.Americans) and was doing all sorts of work, but especially weeding for my landlord (aka communal work in the bldg). The beds I was working on look much better. Am just taking a little break atm but do intend to do various other things today, mostly inside it's too hot now for garden work or outside work.

The music I was listening to is a CD of mantra chanting in Sanskrit (or in this case more like mantra singing because really quite musical) from somebody I've heard live and even been in his groups singing. Mantra chanting generally does me good unless I notice an aversion to it. And I almost always end up singing along with my CD and it does me a lot of good. Rn I'm listening to a CD of various hits, I think from the 80s or early 90s but not sure, I don't really sing along with it except maybe in my head a little but it wakes me up a bit and I'm even moving around a bit while typing, which also helps me not doze off. I tend towards shutdown (tho also flight, and of course sometimes fight or fawn), so maybe my eyes briefly shutting while typing and my completely forgetting what I wanted to write was part of that. :Idunno:

blueberry, i think it's so cool that you have that specific music you can utilize to activate yourself.  really nice.

and good idea to get everything done in the early morning.  these heat waves are getting rather tedious, to my mind.  keep up the good work, ok?  love and hugs
