Zoom meetings

I am considering discussing with the moderators here about some potential Zoom meeting contact. There is a world wide recovery app that most users find to be very helpful. The format is a wide net with groups focused on various topics tangentially, or potentially directly, associated to our challenges. Some of the meetings are wide open where you bring to the table whatever is hurting or challenging you. But realize that there are rational limits to the discussions. It would be inappropriate to discuss anything triggering or graphic, much like the rules here I believe. But some of the more generic groups can be a good place to fellowship/socialize and alleviate loneliness, which is very real for many people in recovery. Anyway, I do nothing without approval, or not, and discussion with this sites moderators. And or your interest. Please give me your thoughts on this. The meetings are already set up and moderated so it is low/no maintenance on this/your end.

Have you been in these meetings Up?  What can you say about them? I would like to check them out as the issue of more Zoom time has recently come up here and we're starting to look at ways members can get some Zoom time. Right now we're restricted here to people like me who have the Zoom app and are senior members who can only give so much time.

It's interesting to hear that the groups are moderated. Is there a fee?

Any info you can pass along would be useful. I would not want to recommend something before I know more about it. If you wouldn't mind, please PM me here or email me at l.herod@yahoo.ca so I can have a look at the site first.  Tks.

Yes, it would be good to know more. If it is reasonably low cost it may be that some members here who have experience of our Zoom groups might be able to check it out and then report back on it. Joining this sort of thing can feel scary but it may help others decide whether to give it a try if trusted people here can give input on how safe it feels.

That's a good idea NK, that is, having members who have experience with our Zoom groups here check out the site and then maybe chat together (Zoom) to see what everyone thinks.

Yes Ma'm. I have absolutely zero desire to step on toes. I am a new by here and I hope to follow the protocols/procedures laid down. I am currently redoing my First Aid/ CPR etc and juggling a few balls. Please bear with me for a week ? Or so. I will privately send you gathered information. Hopefully this information/ resource will have some benefit. If not, this site is already a gold mine. Thank you for the response.

It does. Three iirc, run as Kizzie said by senior members with their own Zoom. Afaik they're all full tho.

If you do a search for Zoom on the forum, you'll come across various threads about the Zoom meetings, including some from Kizzie saying she had openings, but those have undoubtedly been filled by now.
