Hello ; I just did something which is to ,me very scary , I asked the building super if he would fix something for me, it is not a building issue , he has done this for other tenants, it took me a long time to ask, the super was very nice about it he said  certainly ,and made an appointment to come . It was my job to do for my so-called mother, I was never allowed to ask for anything, if I made the mistake of doing so, I was told how selfish I was, and punished. I know this is a small thing, however, it feels like progress to me, to be able to ask some one for something .

Knowing how we are as survivors Alexandra I don't think this is a small thing at all.  It's quite something to overcome the built in fear/guilt and ask for something for yourself, IMO it means you are on the way to looking our for yourself so bravo!   :applause:

Well done!  :cheer: I'm glad the super was nice and is going to come to fix it. It's important to have experiences of asking for help and receiving it so our neural networks can be re-wired. But of course you can't have the experience if you can't ask for it, so it was a really big and important step for you to do that.
