I was awakened from birds nearby singing their songs.

As I arise slowly, I get up and begin to head outdoors.

I slowly step down the stairs through the grassy path beneath my feet.

Walking with purpose silently and steadily as I can be.

Nature surrounding me everywhere I walk.

Beautifully enigmatic from far as your eyes can see.

I hold my sword close to my side as press purposely on.

Then loosening my grip since no threats are here nothing at all.

I gaze up towards the big blue sky as I stop in my tracks for only a moment to spare.

Breathing in the purity of the fresh mountain air.

I press on but with no haste or destination.

To enjoy each moment that time has given me.

I headed toward a small stream a few feet ahead of me.

Finally stopping near the edge, I look down at my reflection and I know it's me.

In the reflection, I see a proud young woman who carries herself well.

I begin to smile down at her as she smiles as well.

One last time I gaze up above through the tree line staring at the sun.

As it shines down at me illuminating everything and everyone.

I say quietly to myself. " This is what true peace looks like. "

Then slowly close my eyes saying goodbye to my paradise.

Hi Harorudo

I love the imagery and emotions it evokes in me with what you have written.  :cheer:

In a forest walk, is where I find my peace, I feel my guard slowly drop, and my nervous system slowly regulates and rejuvenate.

Thank you for this, and a reminder that getting out in nature is a big part of my self-care.

Thank you for the compliments I appreciate it a lot. I really loved how this turned out was based on a real dream I had. I only ever had 4 good dreams that made me feel peace and safe. Since I have Chronic Nightmares. I'm not sure what medicine I take for it but I know they don't help, really nothing dose. It's a matter of pure willpower to try and have a great day with becoming depressed or scared. I did have a tiny few other okish dreams in life but not a lot. I re live my trauma every night. I'm more afraid of people honestly than a scary monster type dreams. Sorry for the ramble thank you again and I'm happy it helped you in some way. I have many other poetry too, I'll share soon.
