I guess I'll say hi. I recently restarted therapy and have been told that it sounds like I have CPTSD. I do feel like a fraud with it all, but also trying to keep in mind that this can be part of it. At the moment, the loneliness is the hardest part, which is why I have joined here.

Hi Lasair,
Welcome to the forum.
I hope you feel some relief from the loneliness by being here among understanding, kindred souls.

Harorudo

Hello Lasair,

A pleasure to meet you I hope you find here helpful and supportive. That's a very good thing and a big step to go back to therapy, I'm proud of you. Loneliness really sucks and I know the feeling I bet you'll find like minded individuals here too. Well please take care and see you around.

Hello Lassiter and Harorudo, I am glad both of you are here trying to connect to others, and are working with your therapist on yourselves.

Lasair

Harorudo

You're most welcome Lasair.

Hi Lasair

Welcome I'm new as well and hear your loneliness.
My therapist told me and I've read about it on line, is working through some of my CPTSD triggers takes lots of practice and support.

I'm glad we found (or hope to) ourselves here amongst kindred spirits!

Cheers

Welcome to the forum Lasair!  :heythere:

That feeling like a fraud can indeed be part of CPTSD. Maybe consider most people don't find this forum and end up signing up here by accident. I still feel uncomfortable with the term and prefer complex relational trauma, or developmental trauma. Nevertheless this place feels like home. There seem to be many ways to end up in a similar mental space, and loneliness is a part of that. It drove me to sign up here too, and it's one of the best things I've ever done. I'm nowhere near as lonely as I was, in large part due to the connections I made with the people here. I'd wish that for you too.

Much love

Welcome Lasair  :heythere:
I hope you will find the people and the understanding on this forum as helpful and supportive as it has been for me. It has made a huge difference in my journey (I was 56 when I was diagnosed with CPTSD last year).
You are not alone  :grouphug:
