Hi, I am a 32 yr old women who suffers from CPTSD caused primarily by chilhood emotional abuse. I have a hard time verbalizing my emotions and connecting with others. I have my guard up at most times because that is how I survived my childhood. I joined this website because I want to connect with others and feel like I am not alone.

You are not alone. What I have found in my travels is that C-ptsd is a poorly diagnosed condition. It doesn't seem to get as much exposure as say schizophrenia, bi polar disorder on and on. Then when I got a professional clinical diagnosis, I found that support groups etc were really minimal for me in western Canada. I had to fight months for a psych eval then go through social workers etc to finally get EMDR treatment. I didn't give up because of my educational and experiential. knowledge. Im nothing special, but I know and lived a few things. As many of us have.
