But I'm not questioning your assessment of the severity of your symptoms and neglect of tasks. Just noting I fail on many measures and haven't reply thought of it as neglecting self-care. Come to think of it though i rarely drink water, am lazy about food prep and cleaning, and have nail polish that has been wearing off for weeks.

It's useful for me to re-read this now. Might help me reframe a bit, not be so self-critical to the point of harsh towards myself.

That's an interesting idea, blueberry, to reread.... I am going to look back over my journal and see what patterns I might notice and what I want to remember.

I often re-read my journals, sometimes quoting bits for myself and then commenting on that. Rereading my journals almost always reminds me and shows me that I'm moving forwards. When I feel stuck, it's easy to overlook the progress. Most of my journaling in the past couple of years has been on the Private Journal boards, but occasionally I add something to my old journals on the Recovery Journal board.
