Dear all,
My therapist mentioned i seek peer trauma survivors and today i heard about OOTS in a podcast. I am a middle aged woman from the Netherlands and at this moment not working at my job as a physiotherapist because cptsd burnt me out (short version).

From the age of 7 to 10, my grandfather sexually abused me and it was the beginning of a difficult, detached end shameful childhood where i was bullied in school and emotionally neglected by my n. mother and co-dep father.

Lots of different kinds of therapy in different stages of my life, the most recent being psychedelic assisted therapy and IFS therapy. I actually didn't expect any therapy to make any differencr anymore but lately i am noticing there is some sort of life and light emerging between the dense dark 'nothingness' my life has always felt like.

I hope to meet you here somewhere, in this precious wonderful OOTS

Hello ; Welcome Senghi; I know how hard it can be to post your story here, good that you did ,You are not alone, I have C-PTSD, I find it helpful to me ,to know there are other people, who know what I am dealing with as they are dealing with the same issues ,as well. Your grandfather had no right to sexually abuse you, I am so sorry that you went through that horrible experience , you had a right to a safe childhood, a right your grandfather ,and your parents took from you.

Hi Senghi, :heythere:

I'm really glad you found your way here. What you shared about your past and its impact is a lot to carry, and it makes sense that burnout followed.

You'll find people here who understand these kinds of experiences, and I hope this space can feel as supportive and steady for you as it has been for me. 💛

Hi Senghi,
Welcome and thanks for sharing. I am sorry for everything you have been through. I relate to the burnout, detached and shameful childhood, being bullied at school, your N.Mum and Co.Father (mine were just in the opposite roles), the dark nothingness your life has felt, not expecting any therapy to work and then seeing some light.
I am new here too, and I am glad you found this forum :)
