Greetings.

mid 30s ciswoman here. last 2 years my life has been what I'd admit to as 'safe' and 'normal' and almost boring, which seems to trigger anxiety. So, that's a long few decades of compiled trauma - childhood, SA, unwanted and forced pregnancy, DV relationships, self harm, sober and no self harm for 3 years now. Feeling good about all my progress, but still feeling extremely unlike everyone else. alien. outsider. maybe even dangerous in my most intrusive shaming thoughts. fear from any other human, really. it's been hard. I guess online is the only safe place? ... I'm scoffing there. We all know the internet is great for zero accountability, not a trigger for us at all, right? hah. anyway, nice to meet you all. hope things get real good for you real soon  :blahblahblah:

Hello, and welcome. I'm glad you found us and glad you have been making progress that you are pleased with. It's a long road, as everyone here will likely agree.

Hi and a warm welcome to OOTS Traumallama (I love your pseudonym!).  :heythere: Talking here is a good way to begin to be able to share about your trauma and not worry about being made to feel even more alien or like an outsider than you already do. Even though we're doing so anonymously, IMO our inner selves kow we've finally found a community and if we belong here, maybe we do belong elsewhere.  Afterall, we share common symptoms that developed as a result of relational abuse.  In other words, it's really not us, it's what happened to us.

I'm glad to hear you've been doing well in other areas   Maybe by being here you'll be able to let go of the anxiety that feeling of boredom seems to be triggering. I hope so.

I'm curious to hear more about the fact that your care team is new to CPTSD if you're comfortable talking about that. It's a common problem, so much so that we're in the midst of a project about it and are writing a book in which we've talked about the issue.
