Hello, everyone,

This is my first time posting at this forum.  I'm a target of a boss who I believe has narcissistic personality disorder. This has been going on for several years. I feel a strong sense of humiliation. Sometimes waves of heat of humiliation wash over me, even when I'm not in her presence. I currently am trying to take steps to remove myself from her. She has been actively alienating me from colleagues, coworkers, and others in our community. She has recruited others - "flying monkeys" - to also alienate me. She and others have actively alienated me from students we work with after I've established a rapport. This is very hurtful and unacceptable. If I say what I think is happening, it will make me sound paranoid. She is very cunning, manipulative, and callous. I take an antidepressant and antianxiety med but I don't know how much they help. I suppose it could be a lot worse if I didn't take them.
I feel powerless to do anything to counteract her (and her proxies') active campaign to alienate me from meaningful, positive human contact at work and generally. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to deal with it? Is there anything I can say or do to let people know what's going on in a way that won't cause further harm or make me look crazy as I know they are telling people I am?

Many thanks, and peace to each of you.

Well this situation can't be comfortable. Have you tried talking to the boss? What are the issues between you two, in your opinion? If you've tried talking to the person with no results I would say take a lot of notes, start yourself a file of what you are seeing and experiences and take it up the chain of command when you have a documented complaint. Otherwise it will be your word against hers and we all know how that will most likely turn out. I wish you luck with this and wish there was more we could help you with. maybe some others will chime in and give you some options. Welcome to the forum.
