I have been previously diagnosed with several different dx's and when C-PTSD came out my doctor gave me reading material on the symptoms and diagnosis of C-PTSD. We were both taken back a bit because it fit so perfectly. I have not began any recovery process. The best thing we have done is to psychologically put everything into the file cabinet and lock it up, hoping not to get triggered in the meantime. It is very difficult because the cause of my trauma remains in existence through other behavioral modification programs/schools now funded by the government. I cannot watch the news, it is too overwhelming for me.
At any rate, I am here to make friends who understand what it is like to live with this problem.
I wish everyone peace of mind.

Hi Tcartqueen

A hard diagnosis with a little bit of a silver lining: you have a supportive and knowledgable Doc. I'm glad to hear the two of you have been able to work out a strategy that seems fitting for the moment.
How hard it must be to still be in a position where the cause of your trauma is still present.
Take care.

You are very welcome and I look forward to a new friend as well.
Thanks for your kind wishes.
