I am a book nerd and extremely hypervigilant.  I have read a lot of different books but recently I have tried to focus on books and articles that talk about the treatment approach for people like us that have suffered complex trauma over a lifetime beginning in childhood.

Christine A Courtois has several good books and articles that can be found online.  A book that is helping me written by her and Julian D. Ford is called Treatment of Complex Trauma A Sequenced, Relationship-Based Approach.  It talks about preparing for treatment, setting goals, and the 3 phases of therapy / treatment.  It has helped put in to perspective some of things that my T is actually doing that I didn't really understand before and has helped reassure me that he really does understand what he is dealing with.

Here is a link to a site that she regularly posts articles to as well:

John Briere is also an excellent resource and I really gained a lot of knowledge and understanding reading a chapter from one of his books online.  See the link that follows to read it:  http://johnbriere.com/STM.pdf.  He also has several books as well and seems very knowledgeable about how the abuse we have endured had effected us and provides an interesting analysis and framework for treatment.

Hope some will find these resources helpful in the journey for answers.
