Most of us here were traumatized by our parents. We don't have complex trauma because they were not perfect. No parent is. But because they did not even approach the threshold of "good enough."

I know I was traumatized because my parents themselves were traumatized but as you say Armee, that's a far cry from simply being "misattuned" - it's cruelty, neglect, abuse. I felt my stomach drop when I read that.  It minimizes and excuses the trauma we suffered and that makes me angry and sad too.

Much work to be done.
