I just arrived and began reading these boards searching for answers for my loved one.

I have seen as  symptoms of similar  with a PD and or BPD

I have seen and or experienced my loved one:
Sarcasm -sometimes over the top.
Clumsiness (spatial awareness walking into door frames and bumping bed corners ie unexplained bruises)
Flashback of sexual trauma at least 1x
Ocd about things in her life (kitchen cabinets, her own stuff, planning)
Migraines from *- including vomiting
Pains that are constant though medication usually will not touch
Sleeplessness/ inabilty to sleep
Anxiety relates to above
I have been enduring silent treatment on  3 occasions and always when she runs to a new location/man and these events are months long.
On 3 occasions a flight response and leaving me.  ( ? Black/white splitting)
Rarely are the outward rages towards me or kids
Zoning out/ day dreaming  ( will knit for hours)
Seeks approval and acknowledgment  for spending and saving money correctly.
Hyper sexual and then nothing inhibited. ( porn like then cold )
Cant remeber day to day activities but she can recite information like a computer .
She has starts projects and hobbies and rarely finishes them

Reported in some episode of disassociation
-amnesia of events
-lying to other w/o regard to consequences
Devaluation of me and or others --mainly me

( reported sex abuse by older men in teens, mother is PD, grandmother is PD, promiscuity as teen and in service, alcohol issues, illicit drug use as teen, reported abuse physical and emotional by mother and father - but other family members queston it the severity, isolation from normal activities, would rather be home than be in groups of like minded folks, stealing as child, eating disorder).

I am wondering if she is c ptsd or bpd. She has been tested and has had diagnostic criteria that are NOS but fall within anxiety disorder and certian hpd/npd things .

Do some of you folks see any similarity in you that i did my very best to describe? I am not seeking diagnosis, that will have to come later. I'm trying to wrap my head about what may be wrong with her.

Hi Berdy,

welcome. It's great that you are searching for answers for your loved one. None of us are qualified to advise you, of course, but many of the symptoms you have listed are criteria for a PTSD diagnosis and may indicate Complex PTSD. C-PTSD (which isn't listed in the DSM yet) and BPD share many of the same symptoms. Any reason why she isn't seeking a diagnosis?

Perhaps you could encouraged your loved one to try this forum, or take a look at the main site? If very distressed at the moment - it might not be the right time.

When she returns, i hope that she will try to do something for herself. She had been in therapy (self admitted)  for the other diagnosis but felt it was not right and they tried giving her medications for anxiety-which she took but it made things worse. She then stopped all therapy.

I'm sitting black and waiting for return to white. I have to trust what has happened before will bring her around eventually.  Time-

I'm so sorry I didn't understand this from your first post. It sounds like you have a lot to cope with as a result of these possible symptoms.

Is there anyone you can talk to with a good understanding and trustworthy perspective of the situation?
