Mystery

When I was 17, I wrote a Poem called Cabernet De Moi. It was basically my way of saying I am cursed and that the Devil savors my tears like a fine wine.

This is the 1st version;

Cabernet De Moi

Beat me down, crack my ribs
Tear my flesh, unholy sound

Blood I'm leaking, tears I'm weeping
God I'm seeking, Satan's speaking

Calling my name till the end of time

No one knows, no one cares
Feel their eyes, feel their stares

Through them the devil is watching

He sees me hoping, sees me try
Ever planning, for the day I die

And if I die before I wake
My shattered soul is what he'll take

He has special plans for me
I cry when I think what they could be

But tears to him are a nectar like wine
He will drink from me till the end of time.

Last year I started playing with AI Music Generators and created this song.

The Story came from listening to the song and watching the video I made to accompany the music.

Cabernet De Moi

In the summer of 2019, an ancient vampire catches the scent of something impossible drifting through the humid streets of New Orleans.

For thousands of years, Alaric Belmont has walked the night. One of the oldest vampires in existence, Alaric has survived empires, wars, plagues, and revolutions. Nothing surprises him anymore. Nothing excites him.

Then he smells her.

Maria Cabernet appears to be an ordinary woman living an ordinary life. Beautiful, kind, and unaware of the darkness surrounding her, she has no idea that her blood carries a secret older than most civilizations.

More than three centuries earlier, in 1654, a failed attempt to create a vampire familiar transformed Maria into something unique. Neither human nor vampire, neither mortal nor immortal, she became a living anomaly. Whenever a vampire completely drains her blood, the vampire dies; contracting hypercoagulability from Maria causes the vampire to dry up and turn to dust, while Maria reverts to the body of her ten-year-old self, loses all memory of her past, and begins life again.

But Maria's blood carries another gift—or curse.

When she is unbonded, her blood releases a supernatural fragrance known as Ambrosia, a scent capable of driving vampires to seek its source. The first vampire who tastes her blood becomes bound to her. The scent vanishes to all others, and Maria's blood begins a slow transformation, maturing over years like the finest wine.

To the vampire, she becomes an obsession unlike any other.

To Maria, she becomes part of a love story.

Her altered familiar blood causes her to experience the bond as trust, affection, intimacy, and romance. Each time she meets a vampire, she believes she has found the love of her life. Each time she falls deeply and genuinely in love.

The vampire experiences something entirely different.

What begins as curiosity becomes fascination. Fascination becomes desire. Desire becomes dependence. The blood grows richer with time, more intoxicating, more irresistible. Every vampire believes they can control their hunger. Every vampire believes they can savor her forever.

None ever can.

Alaric is the sixth vampire to enter Maria's life.

Unlike those before him, he remains for years. He watches over her, protects her, and gradually builds a life around her. Yet he knows nothing of the curse hidden within her blood. He believes he has discovered a miracle. He has no idea that five vampires before him made the same mistake.

As Maria and Alaric's relationship deepens, the novel unfolds through two contrasting perspectives. Maria experiences a sweeping gothic romance filled with passion, longing, and devotion. Alaric experiences a classic vampire tale of temptation, appetite, possession, and addiction.

Neither understands the full truth.

Through haunting flashbacks spanning centuries, the story reveals Maria's previous encounters with the vampires who came before Alaric—five men who sought only a meal and found something far more dangerous.

For Maria, each life is a love story.

For the vampires, each encounter becomes a slow descent into obsession.

And for Alaric, the greatest discovery of his immortal existence may also become his last.

Set against the atmospheric backdrop of New Orleans, Cabernet De Moi is a gothic tale of blood, memory, desire, addiction, immortality, and the strange ways love can exist even when two people are living entirely different stories.
