Hi all. Im from western Canada. C-PTSD with avoidance behaviours here. I'm only 6 months into this journey. I've been in substance misuse recovery, continuously without using, for three decades. I went from living on the streets of Toronto and Vancouver with a Gr.8 education, to long term recovery and 5 years post secondary education. It took quitting or being fired from multiple jobs to see a pattern later in life. I finally realized that I was bringing negative personality traits into most of my interpersonal relationships. So I fought for a professional psych eval. which brought me my official diagnosis. From my very basic knowledge at this point, I appear to be a classic result of long term childhood developmental trauma. And I have most of the recognized traits of the disorder. I start EMDR in September. And I am grateful for the opportunity. May you find peace and love on your journey.
