Free workshop   https://bodyfix.thefitnessdoctor.com/

I signed up a week or so ago, tho on now listening to above advertising blurb, it does sound a little too "all-healing" and totally - you can do this- to be true, especially for the likes of us. Also you're meant to attend every day and sign up for one of three possible time slots per day in advance. Feels overwhelming to me, but probably not for everybody here on OOTS.

As with all these freebies, I'm sure he'll do another one at the latest in a year.

P.S. I think the workshops of this 'guru' might be relevant to people with cptsd because it's supposedly about correcting the misalignment in your body and then gentle exercises with your body re-aligned. Let's face it, tons of us on here have painful, tense bodies due to armouring etc. causing classic misalignment like drooping shoulders.

The workshop is for people 50+ though if you're already misaligned at 20, no harm joining I'm sure.

I got notification about this workshop from one of the trauma conference mailing lists I'm on, but I haven't seen that this guy Robbie Stahl works in a trauma-informed way. IF I do this workshop now, I'll take what helps me and leave the rest. But things are rather piling up rn so I may put off doing the course till some other time and now just read around his websites etc to glean information.

In fact he did one last week! ;)  I seem to have been automatically signed up for it. I didn't take part.

Tho I didn't participate this time around, I was being offered all 3 time slots per day w/o having to sign up for one in advance.

I managed to sign up for specific times yesterday and the first session was today, or rather last night. I attended i.e. listened and did some foot alignment exercises. It's not trauma-informed, I wouldn't say, because that's not their thing, but it was interesting for me to hear things not normally said in fitness, like your brain learns an initial exercise slowly. Usually exercise classes are too fast for me. I sometimes feel small Inner Children around me in exercise classes, so I figured it's too fast for them.

He also said it's important to focus on being in the here-and-now when exercising. Be in the moment, be in the movement itself, and not focussing on some future goal like: better, faster, stronger. The latter sounds to be very much like: SHOULD, which is not good for me. I know that.

The Fitness Doc talks a lot about how people's bodies are misaligned, what problems that causes, and what exercises can slowly start to change that. Of course, there are the usual add-ons, that you can pay for, but you don't have to. I won't. I know me well enough to say just watching the videos for the full 5 days if i can manage that and keeping going with 1-2 foot exercises and 1 ankle exercise regularly that that is ample for the moment.

ETA: Of course this is like all those other freebie conferences, they show them again and again. I've been on their mailing list for aaaages and now finally signed up and participated.
