It depends on who asks me, and why they are asking. I don't need to go into abuse with people I don't know well or trust. I just mutter something about moving around a lot, and change the subject.

Thanks for the suggestions -- good to know that I'm not alone. Unfortunately, I'm living on Social Security and can't afford to have someone come in and clean. I made some progress today.
I'm just so tired all the time.

General Discussion / Dirty House

My house is getting worse. I have bad asthma, so I can only do a little at a time. But even then -- I think about what I can do, and don't do it. I'm very critical of myself, and then realize that it could be a symptom. Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks -- Sue

I see my therapist once a week. I also joined a self help group that deals with mental issues called Recovery International, and I go to their meetings weekly.
Doing both has helped a lot. I leave major issues to my therapist, but the group has helped me handle the day to day problems much better.

General Discussion / Personality Changes

I've had several major depressions, and was diagnosed with PTSD, which seems to make more sense.
I've noticed that my personality has changed a lot. I did the Meyer-Briggs test, and found that some of the results were the opposite of how I used to be. I'm very introverted and a loner, and while I always needed my own space, I enjoyed friends and had frequent parties when I was younger.
Has anyone else noticed something like this happening?

Along with therapy, I have been going to a self help group for mental patients called Recovery International. Google it for the website.
It has helped a lot. It's not for the deep issues that I discuss with my therapist, but it is great for help with anxiety and getting through the day, and dealing with everyday upsets.

General Discussion / Re: trying to find a therapist after emotional abuse

I thought I was depressed, so I went to a therapist. She was extremely judgmental so I stopped seeing her. I found another therapist who is very good. She was the one who put it together for me that I have CPTSD. It made so much sense! I've been seeing her for quite a well, and I am making progress slowly. If your first therapist isn't good, keep looking. There are good ones out there.
