Title: Psychosis from extreme dissociation or flight response mood alteration?
Post by: Nevish on May 09, 2017, 04:15:52 PM
I remember reading in the Pete Walker book that the normal consequences of the flight type was obsessions and of the freeze was dissociation, but when taken to the extreme they could lead to mood episodes or psychosis.

Has enyone experienced this?

There does seem to be a connection between trauma and psychosis. You might be interested in this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6do5bkUEys.

Hi there Nevish, not sure if it's okay to revisit this topic,
but I'm reading this book now and I think I may be a case of extreme dissociation resulting in psychosis.

If this is still relevant, please feel free to discuss it with me. I'm also interested to learn more about other people's experiences.

Kind regards

Teddy bear, your posts are good in the sense that they revive certain subjects and re-activate threads that others (definitely me) might never have come across.
Thanks!

I agree with Chart Teddy Bear - it good to see older threads be bumped as there's often a lot of good info or it provides an opportunity to start anew discussion about the topic.

Guys, I got a heartwarming sense of community and support here very quickly, that means a lot for me (just like Home, but not a dysfunctional one).
My deep appreciation 💕

Oh yeah, reviving old threads is a good idea. There's lots of really useful info and experience in old threads. I just didn't want you to be disappointed when OP doesn't respond.

That's really nice of you 🤗

I guess there's a chance others might join the discussion too — that'd be great!
